The warm temperature that Vegas has most of the year can lead to some great time out on the water. This particular trip left out of Katherine Landing Marina, on the Arizona side of Lake Mohave. The marina is located on the south end of the lake down by Davis Dam. Drive time from Vegas is less than 2 hours. Going left out of the marina will lead you toward the dam. We venture upstream to find different locations to beach the boat and hang out at several secluded coves and open beach areas. On this occasion we found Powerline Cove, tucked away from the open water and just enough room for the patio boat to beach. Spending a day out on the lake is a great way to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, especially when we hit our high temps. So pack up the ice chest with food and drinks, grab a few friends, rent a patio boat for the day and I guarantee that the good times will follow.
