It was time for My Vegas Blog to get out of town. We went on the lookout for a great speakeasy in Austin. We enjoyed our days and nights out on Red River Street, Rainey Street and of course Dirty 6th. Barhopping was the plan and we definitely did not fail. On Red River we hit up lunch at Stubbs BBQ and had some tequila at Pelons. A great stop for some live music was down on South Congress street inside The Continental Club. On Rainey Street we made it to Lustre Pearl, Stagger Lee and Augustine. Plenty of bars line 6th street and we may have had tequila in most of them. Our mission though was finding some speakeasies. On day one we got into Small Victory, Red Headed Step Child and The Garage. Day two was Here nor There, Midnight Cowboy, Firehouse Lounge and Eden. RHSC was the toughest one to get into. A code is needed that you need to ask around to get and hopefully a bartender or server will know it and feel like giving it to you. Firehouse Lounge is located behind a sliding bookcase inside the lobby of a hostel and Eden Cocktail Room has an entryway down a backside alley. The Gargage is literally located inside a parking gargage. Find the door for Small Victory and ring the bell. Reservations can be made but not necessary. To get into Here nor There, make a reservation through their app and get a code the day of arrival. Find the locked door, put in the code in and then head downstairs to the underground lounge. To get into Midnight Cowboy, find the door and look for the buzzers on your left. Push the buzzer (to the right name) and someone will soon open the door and let you in. Reservations can be made here to make sure you get a table. Austin was a great time and we crammed alot into two nights. Thanks to our Austin friends for coming out and putting up with our “slightly inebriated” selves and having a few drinks with us. We will let you know when we make it out there again !!!
Great post
Thank you !!! We had a great time while we were there
